1. Georgia Republicans are in disarray and choosing Trump over truth.
Senate Bill 202, signed by Governor Kemp, will make it harder for Georgians to vote, and is based on nothing but debunked lies about the presidential election. Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr is facing backlash for his role leading a group that promoted the January insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
Meanwhile, Republicans like Lieutenant General Geoff Duncan, who was one of the only Georgia Republicans to criticize SB 202 or stand up to Donald Trump’s lies about the election, has decided to not run for re-election, showing there is no longer room for truth or common sense in today’s GOP.
Georgia Republicans have launched yet another unfounded legal challenge to the 2020 presidential election, this time demanding a third review of ballots. Six months after the most secure presidential election in history, the GOP is still amplifying Donald Trump’s Big Lie because they have no real agenda to help working families.
Georgia Republicans asking to be re-elected are refusing to stand up to protect our democracy, and instead will do whatever it takes to protect Trump and his conspiracy theories about the presidential election.
2. Thanks to the leadership of President Biden and Democrats, America is back on track.
The Biden-Harris administration’s successful vaccination program has contributed to a steep decline in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths across all age groups, with the lowest cases and deaths since last summer.
For the sixth straight week, weekly unemployment claims have hit the lowest levels since the pandemic began, and experts project that the economy will grow faster than at any time in the last 40 years. We are creating an average of 500,000 jobs a month – up from 60,000 a month before Biden took office.
We are now far ahead of where anyone thought we would be in our war against the virus thanks to Democrats’ competent leadership. Georgians know that our country is back on track thanks to President Biden, Senator Ossoff, Senator Warnock, and House Democrats, while Republicans continue to stand in the way.
3. While America is back on track, we are still on the road to recovery. President Biden’s American Jobs Plan and American Families Plan are critical next steps.
This is the moment to reimagine and rebuild a new American economy.
The American Jobs Plan and American Families Plan are once-in-a-generation investments in America to meet our current infrastructure needs, create good-paying jobs, and strengthen the foundations of middle-class prosperity: education, health care, and child care.
